Coach Hamptons Wristlet

coach hamptons wristlet

It is graduation season in many parts of the world. Granted many and most graduated a few weeks ago, whether it be from high school or college, but the parties are still continuing. I recently went to my cousins High School graduation and had to think of the perfect gift. What does every college kid need I pondered? Lo and behold, I came up with a wristlet, for the nights on the town when you need cash and a credit card and that is about it! I find the Coach Hamptons Wristlet to be the perfect gift for any girl out there; the pebbled leather is divine, the functionality of the wrist strap is perfect, and the size is just right. The tassel detail is not over the top, and coming from me who is not much of a tassel lover, that says something. Measurements are 6 (L) x 4 (H). Still looking for the perfect affordable gift, opt for this wristlet in either black, blue, or sand. What girl would not love this?

Fashion Week Spring 2010: Christian Dior

Dior 13If you don’t think that John Galliano is a mad genius and we’re just all lucky to be living in the same world with him, then you haven’t been paying attention.

For Spring 2010, his collection for Christian Dior connected beautifully to the retro-and-structured-underthings look that he had showed earlier this year during Haute Couture week, and the 40s film noir looks were exactly what you would expect a dizzy dame to wear when walking into a smoky private eye’s office.

Galliano knows his audience for Dior, and I could see them buying up these ultra-glam cocktail dresses and floating evening gowns hand over fist. And not only are they beautiful, but they so thoroughly inhabit the brand’s history and mythology while still incorporating modern touches like tough leather bombers. The past and present meld gorgeously into looks that are not only art objects, but are also impressively wearable, for the most part. You know, if you go to those types of events.

Henry Dunay for Peace
Henry Dunay understands something very vital: Peace is always in fashion.

In 2003, Henry Dunay created the “Dove for Peace” pin – a charity pin to benefit Roots of Peace, a humanitarian organization dedicated to the eradication of landmines and the rehabilitation of lands in war-torn countries, as well as Green Cross International and its American affiliate Global Green USA. The “Dove of Peace pin” was commissioned by the Global Vision for Peace and was auctioned on eBay, some for over $1000. Every pin was accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and the signature of the celebrity.

The pins were worn by numerous celebrities to the 2003 75th Annual Academy Awards. Oscar winners, nominees and attendees alike proudly wore the pin. A partial list of celebrities who wore the pin that night were Adrien Brody (Best Actor that night for “The Pianist”), Nicole Kidman (won Best Actress that night for “The Hours”), Chris Cooper, Daniel Day Lewis (recently won Best Actor this year for his role in There Will Be Blood), Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Marcia Gay Harden, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates and so many more.

Piaget Partners With Designer Michael Bastian For Fashion Show

  • Posted on October 31, 2009 at 11:28 am

Piaget at Michael BastainCan you have a fashion show with models looking incomplete? I don’t think so. In addition to the clothes, styles must be complete with watches when merited. The latest Fashion Week saw designer Michael Bastian choosing Piaget as the watch brand of choice for his models while displaying his Spring men’s fashion collection.

Michael Bastion styles were sporty and casual with an emphasis on youthful looks. He specifically wanted the matched timepieces to be sophisticated, but share in the sporty outgoing nature of the outfits. He worked closely with Piaget to choose the right timepieces that included the Polo FortyFive (three hand and chronograph versions – with black and white dials), the Protocole XXL square watch, an Altiplano Double Jeu with two watch faces, and two vintage 18k gold Piaget watches.

Piaget of course is thrilled to be working with the important fashion brand as it means excellent exposure for the brand’s watches “in action,” as opposed to just sitting inside of a pretty display case. Reportedly the collaboration worked so well for the two involved, that Piaget and Michael Bastion will work together again for the designer’s Fall fashion show.

The name of TAG Heuer is associated worldwide with topflight sports, motor racing, water sports, and diving and sailing in particular. The brand is actively involved in a variety of timekeeping activities, sponsorship programs and brand ambassadors related to the world of sports.

Having been continuously involved in diving and competitive sailing, TAG Heuer watch-makers have accumulated remarkable expertize in developing technically advanced, water-sports-inspired timepieces. The history of the company has been highlighted by a number of significant achievements related to the world of water sports:

All TAG Heuer watches created for water sports lovers provide utmost reliability and precision.

In 2007 TAG Heuer unveiled the collection of new Aquaracer watches. The newly developed professional sports timepieces are dedicated to sailing and diving.

Fendi Calfhair and Sequin Shoulder Bag

  • Posted on October 30, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Fendi Sequin and Calf Hair Shoulder Bag
I’ve been more than a little critical of Fendi for quite a while now, but between their Spring 2010 runway show earlier this week and the Fendi Calfhair and Sequin Shoulder Bag that we see here, I’ve got to give credit where credit is due: they’re finally doing some fantastically interesting things with their handbag line.

I’m sure this bag isn’t for everyone, but the kind of nerve it takes to combine two divergent textures like calfhair and sequins in order to create a single pattern is exactly what we should all expect from our highest-echelon designers. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won’t (I, for one, think that it really does here), but without people willing to make something ridiculous, we’re never going to see any innovation.

And in general, thisbag is just sort of fabulous. It’s sequin and calfhair zebra print, and despite the bizarreness of that description, it’s really well-done. They used several different sizes of sequins in order to achieve the effect, and it worked out fantastically. I would wear this bag in a heartbeat, even though I’m sure many people would wag their fingers at me for it

Chloe Leather Bow Clutch

Chloe Leather Bow Clutch

Now this? THIS is how you make a unique clutch! Forget the mess of paillettes that we saw earlier this morning – theChloe Leather Bow Clutch is head and shoulders above that bag and most others that I’ve seen lately.

First, the color. Dove grey is the perfect shade to accent the rhinestone-studded bow detail and bring out its glittering, vintage-inspired beauty. It’s hard to make a light-colored clutch look appropriate for cold weather, but this is exactly the sort of thing that I would love to pair with a sweater dress and 1940s-inspired retro coat.

And then there’s the matter of the materials used. The leather is so smooth and perfect-looking that I wouldn’t have guessed that it was actually leather on first inspection, and that’s exactly the kind of leather that needs to be used if it’s supposed to be evening-appropriate. The types of rhinestones that were chosen are also perfect for the look – they don’t look brand new and sparkly, but slightly gritty and old-looking (in a good way). The bag could pass for an exquisite vintage piece, but it looks just as appropriate on the store shelves today. Plus, when you open it, you get a great surprise – it’s lined in bright gold leather.

New Chopard Watch – L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings

  • Posted on October 30, 2009 at 2:03 pm

The Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings is created for lovers of mechanical complications and aesthetic excellence. The openworked dial reveals the complexity and the meticulous finishing of the sophisticated movement beating at the heart of the timepiece.

The watch greatly appeals due to eye-pleasing color combinations. The stylised hour circle distinctively contrasts with the charcoal grey color of the movement. The technical nature of the watch is emphasized with help of blued steel hands and screws.

The tourbillon at 6 o’clock paralazes attention by its clear visibility. The tourbillon is coupled with the seconds hand. You will notice the index power-reserve indication at 3 o’clock.

As a symbol of the dynamic energy of Chopard Manufacture, the tourbillon bridge shape reminds two outstretched bird wings, so interested viewers may enjoy a sweeping view of the carriage in operation.

The L.U.C Calibre 4TT, a mechanical hand-wound tourbillon movement, offers reliability and accuracy of a COSC-certified chronometer. The mechanism incorporates L.U.C ‘Quattro’ technology that comprizes two sets of two stacked barrels. The technology provides a remarkable power reserve of about 216 hours. The movement is beating at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, being equipped with a variable-inertia Variner balance. The bridges are decorated with ‘Cotes de Geneve’ pattern and black engravings.

The 40.5 mm-diameter case of the Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings is crafted in 18K rose gold. The case construction features a glare-proofed sapphire crystal, a crown bearing the L.U.C logo, and Transparent case-back. The watch boasts 30-metre water-resistance.

The watch embraces the wrist with a crocodile leather strap equipped with an 18K rose gold folding clasp.

Lovers of jewelry watches will surely appreciate a version of the watch with the bezel paved with baguette-cut diamonds.

The L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings in 18K rose gold is available in a limited edition of 100 pieces, while the jewelry version comes in a limited edition of just 25 pieces.
