A subsidiary of Citizen Watch Co has sold on Art of Time – a grandfather clock manufacturer – to a group of employees
Bulova Corporation has sold its former grandfather clock manufacturing subsidiary Art of Time.
It has been passed on to a group of long-term employees, while executives from Bulova, which was acquired by Citizen Watch Co last year, believe the transition will go smoothly.
The company will still operate under the name of Art of Time and operations will take place at the current facility in Kitchener, Ontario.
Art of Time wil become a subcontractor for Bulova-branded grandfather clocks and will cover markets in the US, Canada, Russia and the UK.
“We have worked hard to ensure that Art of Time will provide continuity in technical expertise, craftsmanship and service on a global level,” said Carl E Rosen, Bulova chief operating officer.
Citizen Watch Co acquired Bulova in January last year for $250 million (£166 million) and it chose to operate it as a separate organisation in its commitment to becoming a multi-brand company.
