Jimmy Choo Odette M Leather Tote

  • Posted on February 3, 2010 at 11:49 am

Ok, it’s python again! Moreover, it’s a design Jimmy choo has been used for several times. This Jimmy Choo Odette M Leather Toteis a obvious redesigning of the famous Odette bag which the most different is the exotic materials. Although I’m tired of the revamping trick, but this is definitely the most intriguing piece on the classic collection. I’m not sure if it’s Lady Gaga’s influence or what, but I’m sure that I’m not the only person that has noticed sequins everywhere for the past few months. High-end handbag designers have largely avoided the trend, but Jimmy Choo has been embracing some rather fly-by-night trends as of late.

Obviously, this has to do with its exotic material, which is constructed only from leather with stamped snake effect. Its off-white shade has all the more made this tote look refined and sophisticated, and the addition of gold-tone hardware adds to its overall elegance. Just like on other Jimmy Choo Odette bags, this also has the ring and tab detailing at the front, back and sides. This is shaped to form what seems to be a letter Y design on its every side. Another ring embellishment is placed on the handle attachments with a designer stamp.As much as I love sequins (and really, I adore them), I just can’t support their inclusion on an everyday tote for a variety of reasons.

This Jimmy Choo Odette M Leather Tote is quite large at 11 x 11 x 7 inches, and it can be carried through the top handles with 13 inches drop. This then opens through a magnetic-fastening on top and it would reveal zipped and pouch pockets that sit on the sand suede lining.

Jimmy Choo Sequined Snake Pattern Tote

I’m not sure if it’s Lady Gaga’s influence or what, but I’m sure that I’m not the only person that has noticed sequins everywhere for the past few months. High-end handbag designers have largely avoided the trend, but Jimmy Choo has been embracing some rather fly-by-night trends as of late, so the Jimmy Choo Sequined Snake Pattern Tote doesn’t really surprise me.

It’s difficult to see the sequins in this picture since they’re clear, but I assure you that they’re there and they appear to cover the entire bag. As much as I love sequins (and really, I adore them), I just can’t support their inclusion on an everyday tote for a variety of reasons.

First, this bag is busy enough as it is. The blue-silver metallic snake print leather has plenty going on, and it gives you more than enough to look at. Plus it’s already metallic, so there’s no need to have an extra layer of shine on top. The sequins are unnecessary and create visual clutter when the light shines on them.

And then there’s the functional problem of sequins. When they’re covering a clutch, they mostly stay in your hand and away from your clothes. But when they’re on a shoulder bag, the sequins will constantly be rubbing against your clothes, and I can think of a few sweaters in my closet that wouldn’t be particularly thrilled about that. There’s also the problem of sequins coming loose when you’re in constant contact with other materials, and that’s just a problem that I don’t want to deal with.

Jimmy Choo Conti snakeskin shoulder bag

If you’re into animal prints and funky furry looking things, this little bag is for you. The Jimmy Choo Conti snakeskin shoulder bag is a black elaphe snakeskin and leather fold-over shoulder bag with an edgy lightning-shaped animal-print ponyskin detail. It has a detachable gold-tone metal shoulder chain with a 13 inch drop (love it, gives it even more edge) and a concealed magnetic press-stud fastening.

The bag has a gold-tone zip fastening at the top, as well as an internal zip-fastening pocket. There’s a violet designer-embossed tag with violet ribbon trim and it’s fully lined in camel suede.

The dimensions are as follows:

* Width 11″ / 27cm
* Height 8″ / 20cm
* Depth 2″ / 5cm

The Jimmy Choo Conti snakeskin shoulder bag is available to buy through bagsbrand.com  for $2,095.

Jimmy Choo Lola Patent Oversized Bag

Sometimes I like to talk about what I don’t like (with a notable example two days ago), but today, I’m going to talk briefly about what I do: the Jimmy Choo  Bag. Surprise, surprise, right? I’m kinda predictable. Simple, large shoulder bag in a beautiful color. But, to switch it up: this time, patent! Not just patent, but a super shiny, liquid-style patent that is sure to attract a lot of attention. And a gorgeous, deep berry tone that is done no justice by the photo above. We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: berry tones are the must-have colors of the season, and in my opinion, a strong bet every year. They’re classy, work with a multitude of skin tones, and are understated enough to wear to the office but fun enough to wear anywhere else. Also, I’m a huge proponent of color-as-neutral, and I’d buy this handbag instead of a black or brown version any day. Well, I’d buy it if I sailed around on a ship made of money, because it’s a tad, uh, expensive.

Jimmy Choo Odetta

We have been covering Jimmy Choo quite a bit lately on Purse Blog. Jimmy Choo was once only known for their shoes, but over time the brand has transitioned beautifully into the handbag world. They have had some ugly misses, but when they hit it, they do so beautifully with bags that continue to get attention season after season. I am on the Jimmy Choo bandwagon but I am just not sure that the Jimmy Choo Odetta is part of my train.

Jimmy Choo Odetta

Amanda covered the Jimmy Choo handbags  previously and quite liked it. I looked at that bag then and now and I am still totally undecided. I am decided on the fact that I would never buy this bag for myself, but I am undecided if I am liking it. Something about the strap detailing rubs me wrong. It looks like a Y, making some previously think it was a YSL bag. When I see it on the mannequin I begin to like it more, as I can see how the bag looks being carried. It is larger than the photo alludes and looks much better with a slouch as it is held, so that takes it up a few points. I suppose I just do not entirely get it. Care to help me hop on the train with this one or should we leave it at the station?

Christian Louboutin Schoolita Framed Bag

Shoe designers cross over and become bag designers with varying amounts of success. The recent example that most of us know best is jimmy choo handbags : the long-time shoe brand added a bag line a few years ago and hasn’t looked back. They have a dedicated following and have used bags as a way to introduce a new group of women to the brand that may not have previously thought they needed $800 stilettos in their lives.

Some shoes brand don’t perform quite as well as Choo does in the bag arena, however. I saw this Christian Louboutin Schoolita Framed Bag from the internet today and actually kind of liked it, so I thought I’d share it with you. It is elegant enough for the evening, yet casual enough for daytime wear. The graceful shaping with the metal plates (balanced by metal feet you can’t see in this image) is echoed in the pleating and stitching, giving the purse a very deliberate, contained feeling. The bag is 15″W X 12″H X 5½”, with 7″ drop double handles, and made from soft, Italian calf. There’s a surprise inside — the lining is blood red cotton! The inside also has a cell phone and zipper pocket. This bag would be great with stilettos under jeans or with a fitted dress.

Rock bags: Jimmy Choo in The Winter of 2009

  • Posted on November 20, 2009 at 11:25 am

I like rock music, because Rock means young and free for me. In the rock music, what I heard is not only rhythm, lyrics and melody but also dream, real, feeling, rave, religion, power, anger and so on. Some people said that ROCK is not only a form of music but also a kind of attitude to life in fact. Do you have interest in acquaintance of it? Look at this bag which remained the style of gorgeous while adding the rock style and a little of gothic color to it.

1

The designer integrated the shining material to the leather to make gorgeous visual effects. Straightly, the rivets and metal clasps look bright. In addition, leopard skin point shows another wildness beauty.

2

This bag looks so lovely and cool! The body of it is full of stars as the shining stars at night. The cool rock style with some wit and black leather with silver ornaments bring an air of mystery.

3

White leather with rivets looks like nature itself. Especially the dazzling rivets show the signs of rock.If dressed in some rock clothing, the whole person seems different and unique. In my opinion, Rock is always on fashion for people who like it.

Jimmy Choo Chandra Metallic Clutch

Oh, I just love this color of silver. Dark enough to not look cheap and to go with basically everything you own, no matter what. Seriously – try and think of a color that this wouldn’t go with. I defy you! Another thing that I love about the Jimmy Choo Chandra Metallic Clutch is that the leather still looks obviously soft, and so many metallic bags screw that up entirely. In an effort to make things shiny, they make them stiff, and suddenly the bag doesn’t look expensive anymore. This bag still looks pliable and luxurious while having a great gleam to its finish, and that’s a tone that so many designers try to strike and fail miserably.

Jimmy Choo Chandra Metallic Clutch

The main event on this clutch is obviously the banded metal closure, though, and I absolutely love it. The off-center placement is perfect, as is the decision to use two different colors of silver in order to set it apart from the finish of the clutch. In fact, I love it so much that I kind of wish I could slide it off and use it as a bracelet…or that it could be bought separately as a bracelet…are the Choo people listening? Have they considered a jewelry line?

Paris, Hayden and Olivia Model Jimmy Choo For H&M

Olivia Wilde, Paris Hilton, Hayden Panettiere

Half of you said you won’t even bother braving the lines when H&M’s Jimmy Choo collection launches next Saturday, November 14. But does seeing celebrities wearing the clothing and accessories change your mind?

Last night, stars got decked out in Jimmy Choo designer Tamara Mellon’s affordable collaboration with H&M. While we adored Paris Hilton’s pink clutch ($59.95) we’re not sure about the jumpsuit ($69.95). But it probably will look better without those Louboutin booties.

Paris should have worn the new studded sandals ($249) like Olivia Wilde, who made us excited to shop next weekend, with her rhinestone dress ($129) and star clutch ($99). Singer MIA, who performed at the party, totally worked the thigh-high boots ($299); Nicky Hilton looked sleek in a shimmering LBD ($199); and if Hayden Panettiere was taller, maybe she could have pulled off the sequined cardigan ($129) and leather pants ($129). For some reason the petite star reminded us of a grandma from Boca trying to look like she still had her teenage New York style. But that zebra chain purse ($99) is definitely on our wish list!
